If you were at all into Boston radio in the late ‘60s and mid ‘90s, you very likely listened to Charles Laquidara. Over the course of his 25 years at station WBCN, on a show called The Big Mattress, he employed some radical broadcasting techniques, like mixing music with news and talk and politics and humor — the beginnings of what we now know as drive-time radio. Laquidara chronicles his career in his new multimedia memoir called “Daze in the Life.” He joined Jim Braude to discuss.
