When Mothers Want Back In The Workforce

August 12, 2013

Judith Warner made a splash with her recent New York Times piece. Warner argued many women who left jobs to raise children now want back in on the working life. Is it too late, or just the right time? Margery Eagan and Emily Rooney — sitting in for Jim Braude — asked callers about their work-life balance, and if time away from the workforce makes it tougher to come back.

Also on BPR:

  • Kelly Bates and Boston Globe's Scot Lehigh talked to Margery and Emily about the latest political news — who's running for governor, how the mayoral candidates are faring, and the beating Pres. Obama has taken in the press.
  • The Rev. Eugene F. Rivers III talked about minority representation in the Boston Police Department.
  • Shark expert Greg Skomal joined Margery and Emily to talk about his latest research trip, the OCEARCH Expedition.
