Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter

November 24, 2015

Author Kate Clifford Larson (@KCliffLarsontalks her new book, Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter.

The Wall Street Journal has called it the saddest story ever told, that of Rosemary Kennedy. She was the oldest daughter of Rose and Joseph Kennedy, the sister of John, Robert, Ted, and the five other Kennedy siblings.

Rosemary was born with intellectual disabilities, which many link to decisions made during her birth, and which her family hid for decades. When she was 23 years old, Rosemary underwent a lobotomy that left her permanently incapacitated, and she was institutionalized for the rest of her life.
