Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick says he's glad the family of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev has found a burial location, but says he doesn't know where that is.
Patrick says Tsarnaev’s body has been removed from the Worcester funeral home, and has been buried at an undisclosed location.
On WGBH Radio, Patrick said the week-long quest for a burial location has been a circus.
"I understand that people's feelings about the cruelty of this crime run high," he said. "Mine do too. And hot. But the thing for us to focus on now is how to restore and repair the people who were hurt and the families who had loss, and how to ensure that justice is done in the case of the ongoing investigation, and that's where my focus is."
What to do with Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s body became an issue almost as soon as his remains were released to the family on May 1. Tsarnaev's uncle wanted to bury his body in Cambridge, where the family lived for over a decade, but there were immediate protests with cemeteries in Boston and Cambridge refusing to accept the remains.
There was even talk of moving the body to Russia, but Tsarnaev’s mother says authorities wouldn’t let the body enter the country.
