Comet-Chasing Spacecraft Rosetta Wakes Up

The idea of catching a comet has long captured the human imagination, but it may soon be a reality. The European Space Agency’s Rosetta Satellite was launched 10 years ago, and this week, it finally caught up with its target, Comet 67-P.  If all goes according to plan, Rosetta will begin orbiting the comet, land a small probe on its surface in November and beam data back to Earth.
