AnonyWatch: New York Times Public Editor Cracks Down On Confidential Sources

When she first took over as public editor at the New York Times, Margaret Sullivan learned from one of the paper’s reporters that the number one concern of readers was not political bias or factual errors, or even delivery problems. No, the number one issue with readers was the use of anonymous sources. And while other public editors have addressed the issue, this week Sullivan took the issue to another level.
